Malaysia: Universities’ crippling cuts are partially reversed

In the last two years, Malaysian public universities had been struggling with huge budget cuts (19% for this year and 16% for 2016). Now the budget of 20 of them will be increased with 9.8% for 2018. The allocation for research will be almost doubled, which, there are hopes, will help Malaysian universities break into the top 100 in the QS World University Ranking.
