The Decline of the Midwest’s Public Universities Threatens to Wreck Its Most Vibrant Economies

It is important to know that technology keeps advancing because of the work and research that gets done at universities. Federal fundings for research has declined since 2008, and the Trump administrations are planning more budget cuts. Thus public universities in states of the Midwest like Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois and Ohio will have difficulties to fund their research which will unavoidably affect the economy of the territory.
